Honoring Boundaries
January 12, 2011
The word “boundaries” has come up a lot today - for me and for my clients. It’s closely tied to the word “respect.”
When we respect others, we respect their boundaries. And when others respect us, they respect our boundaries.
The purpose of having boundaries is to protect and take care of ourselves - emotionally, physically and mentally. We need to be able to tell other people when they are acting in ways that are not acceptable to us. This applies to both our personal lives and our professional lives.
Are you setting personal and professional boundaries for yourself? Or are you allowing others to cross the line, time and time again?
And are you honoring the boundaries of others?
Ponder these questions and write about them in your journal. You may discover a pattern that you didn’t realize you had.
The Birth of the Phenomenal Woman
January 4, 2011
Coming off the energy of my recent Winter Solstice virtual retreat - I feel, more than ever, that living an authentic life is a must.
When we are living from the depth of our inner beings, we are capable of amazing things. It’s almost magical!
There’s great change in our lives, our families, our communities, and our world. We become the phenomenal women we’ve always wanted to be - and we touch each and every life around us in a phenomenal way.
In honor of this empowering energy, I share the gifted words of the phenomenal Maya Angelou and invite you to step into your own magic.
Phenomenal Woman
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can’t see.
I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
‘Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Seize the Moment
December 5, 2010
We’re currently in a Sagittarius New Moon phase which invites us to step through a new door of opportunity - one that fully resonates with where we are in our personal and professional lives. We’ll have lots of options to ponder. And as we give thought to which option to take, two questions that will become important for each of us are - “What is it that will help me find that higher meaning in my life? What is it that is most aligned with my life purpose?”
In Sagittarius, the soul seeks experiences which extend our reach and satisfy our search for adventure and meaning. This new moon energy seeks optimism, confidence, and the development of an inner trust and faith in life itself.
Sagittarius is the sign that encourages us to be honest with ourselves, expand our horizons as we strive to embrace the truth. If we can change some worn-out beliefs or ways of seeing the world, our ideas on what is “true” for us can begin to shift in ways that can bring us more hope and more abundance.
Many of you have expressed a desire to do more meaningful work in the world - work that is more aligned with your bigger purpose. And with this in mind, I have created three life purpose business programs for 2011. I’d like to invite you to take a look at them. If one of them resonates with you, let’s schedule a conversation to discuss it in more detail and how the program could best support you as you fully step into your authentic work.

Making a Big Decision
November 21, 2010
We’ll be moving into a full moon phase today - Sunday, November 21st at 12:29 p.m. (eastern). And for about 17 hours, we’ll have the moon in the astrological sign of Taurus and the sun in the sign of Scorpio. This combines the intense energy of Scorpio with the grounding energy of Taurus. It’s time to make a decision.
For many of us, the past few days have felt like being in the midst of a breakdown - almost tornado-like with no sense of when (or where) we might be landing.
Because Taurus and Scorpio are both fixed signs, there is a strong energy that stares us in the face, asking us to get a grip. It’s time to make the most of what we have. It’s time to bloom where we’re planted. It’s time to be resourceful.
In other words, how can you best deal with the hand you’ve been dealt? How can you take a challenging situation and make it work for you? How will you move ahead with something that’s been sitting in your lap?
The tension between Taurus and Scorpio is that of life and death, for Taurus celebrates the return of life while Scorpio releases what has died.
We need to let go of the pain, the insistence on being right, the resentment, the hurt of betrayal. These are the emotions that feed the Shadow. In the end, it is our choices about how we use our unique energies and talents that will make the difference in our lives. And we can’t make conscious future choices if we’re unconsciously carrying the past.
The full moon phase is all about completion. Something that has been weighing heavily on your mind will finally reach a conclusion.
What is that something? And what is your decision?
Grab your journal and join me in the light of the full moon - as we use this powerful energy to make a very important decision.
The Importance of a Happy Mother
November 17, 2010
I continue to be amazed when I meet moms who aren’t willing to invest in themselves or their businesses - because they don’t see themselves as the priority. And then these same moms end up in some form of depression - because they aren’t LIVING LIFE in an authentic way. This speaks to the importance of my mission in the world - helping moms SEE that they ARE a priority. Moms are at the core of so much in this world.
I work with many women who are in their 60s - and one thing they say to me is, “Why must society make the mother feel that her job is to sit in the backseat? Why is she not entitled to chase her dreams - like her kids, like her husband? Why does she have to wait until everyone else is served?” ~ For some, it’s a choice to sit in the backseat and that’s fine. But for many, the backseat is not a comfortable fit.
Many moms take the backseat out of fear of being judged. And this eventually leads to depression. I follow many stories in the news that are tied to this type of depression - and then I see the mother blamed time and time again by her children for something she didn’t do for them or for some type of support she didn’t give. It’s hard to support someone else when you’re drowning in depression.
If this resonates with you in any way, I’d like to invite you to a special telegathering that I’m hosting on December 2nd. Send me a note at MoonlightMoms@gmail.com and I’ll give you all the details.
Hope to hear your voice in this very important dialogue.

Tapping into the Energy of a Scorpio New Moon
November 5, 2010
Scorpio is the sign of transformation. Never was this a more timely theme than now.
As we near the end of 2010, we naturally look ahead at the new year and begin to visualize the possibilities. We look at what we’ve created this past year and begin to see what worked and what didn’t. And we begin to ask ourselves, “What’s next? How can I take what I’ve done this year and expand upon it? And how can I comfortably and gently say ‘goodbye’ to what didn’t turn out as planned?”
There’s always potential growth in everything we do. If something works well, we want to take it forward and nurture it - so it can continue to grow with love and passion. If something doesn’t work well, we have an opportunity to examine it from all angles - and ask ourselves, “What lesson did I gain from this? Where was the silver lining and how can I use it going forward?”
Whether you’re making a personal or professional change, take advantage of the electricity that a Scorpio New Moon offers. Open your eyes to the signs that point to a new way of being - a new way of living and a new way of manifesting your inner desires so they’re aligned with your outer surroundings.
Transformation takes place when we allow our inner world to completely align with our external reality - and vice versa. It’s marks the beginning of a beautiful dance, a dance of authenticity and fulfillment.
Who are you at your inner core - and is this showing up in the outer world?
Take advantage of the lightning bolt of Scorpio New Moon energy and be bold enough to put your “real self” out into the world.
